It's a great refresher course and an introduction to Java programming for complete beginners as well. It has clear concise examples, code that works, instructions for setting up the development environment.
It uses the NetBeans development environment. It is a good precursor to Learning and implementing enterprise solutions that are more complex.

The book starts ok but soon enough I was getting nowhere fast. You cannot learn Java in one day. Forget about it. You are lucky if you can understand what a class is in one day.
